21. What is a rectifier?
A rectifier is an electronic circuit that converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) using diodes.


22. List any two applications of clipper circuits.
• Wave-shaping in communication systems.
• Protection of transistor input circuits from high voltage peaks.


23. Mention the need for transistor biasing.
To set a stable operating point (Q-point) for proper transistor operation and to avoid distortion in amplification.


24. List any two transistor configurations and their applications.
Common Emitter (CE): Used for voltage amplification.
Common Collector (CC): Used for impedance matching.


25. Define the term frequency response in amplifiers.
Frequency response is the variation of amplifier gain with frequency; it shows how gain remains constant over a range of frequencies.


26. List any two advantages of negative feedback.
• Reduces distortion and noise.
• Stabilizes gain and increases bandwidth.


27. Mention any two applications of JFET.
• Used as a voltage-controlled resistor and amplifier.
• Used as a buffer or mixer in communication circuits.


28. Write a short note on MOSFET operation.
MOSFET is a voltage-controlled device with an insulated gate.
In Enhancement Mode, it conducts when VGS exceeds threshold voltage; in Depletion Mode, it conducts at VGS = 0 and reduces current for negative VGS.

இதற்கு diode use பண்ணப்படுகிறது.

• Communication systems இல் wave shaping க்காக use பண்ணப்படுகிறது.
• High voltage peaks இல் transistor input protect பண்ண use பண்ணப்படுகிறது.

Transistor biasing நால் stable operating point (Q-point) set பண்ண முடியும்.
இதனால் signal distortion இல்லாமல் proper amplification கிடைக்கும்.
